Old houses

Some old rural houses - in a new light!

Painting with light, done with long shutter speeds at night & multiple images combined with HDR.
They look even better printed on Metalic Paper - by The Edge.

      a bit of abstract landscape!

Playing with my new Macro lens.

A day at the Teselar Tulip Festival, Dandenong.  With friends from work who are also photographers.

my favourite from a night out shooting at an old house ruins in Footscray, with a few friends from work.  Actually, I think we may have bumped into a couple of patients from our work.

one of my latest photos. taken of a house we found while exploring around Melton.  Actually, I think this was in South Gisbourne.  cute little old house in front of someone's beautiful modern home.  Using painting with light techniques.

thank-you to the owners for allowing us to take photos of it.

Friday 3 August 2012

Exhibition opening tomorrow.  I submitted 3 canvas prints - photo of a little fern frond, a succulent and a tiny mushroom.

With the ThouArtMum exhibition coming up, went hunting for Small Wonders in nature. - Went to Mount Macedon, Botanical Gardens, and Mount Dandenong.

Ended up finding some nice ferns at the local Pointons Nursery in Essendon.  Took a few photos there, and got sick of the weird looks from the staff, so ended up buying one of the ferns and taking this photo  at home.

This one was at the Botanical Gardens.

tiny mushroom behind cafe at Mount Macedon lookout.

I like the pattern of the succulents.  Taken at the NMIT excursion to Abbotsford Convent.

more HDR

Learned a bit more about HDR in art class this morning.  Found out that I have had it on my Photoshop all the time.  Went through old photos from Fitzroy gardens (outing with friends from work) - and played around with HDR.  Will take a few exposures of certain scenes in the future, with the plan of editing with HDR.

Started 2nd Year Photography. Enjoying working in the dark room again, except for the headaches.
Had a great evening out with friends from work, who are also photographers. We went to Williamstown and took some photos.
